Older dust should give a more accurate picture. I just did a test Sunday. Instructions said to collect dust from untouched or infrequently touched places - tops of cabinets, refrigerators, doorframes, lightbulbs; upper walls; surface of vents; tops or backs of electronics - tv, computer, cable box, etc. Avoid areas of visible mold. Even if you frequently dust, you can probably find enough dust in those places. Read and follow their instructions. The instructions that come with the kit are pretty straightforward.
Maybe avoid dusting until you get your kit and collect your sample.
Yes - one cloth is enough.
