This happens for me whenever I'm feeling extra bad because of gravity. If I'm reclining or lying down a lot, then food doesn't settle as effectively. The things that helped me were digestive bitters, digestive enzymes, sitting up after meals, no liquids with meals, no liquids after 8 p.m., no food after 5 p.m., no carbonated drinks, Alka-Seltzer Gold, and ginger extract. My doctor also recommends licorice (DGL if you have blood pressure issues) and mastic gum, as well as making sure your bowels are moving completely every day. Good luck!
