sandyfeet,
I’m so sorry. You know I can relate. I don’t know if I can ever live normally again. Those who are exceptional at avoidance report they do recover in time and are able to live more normally at some point. I’m sure some of them are very adept at prophylactic use of cholestyramine as well.
I’m not very good at avoidance and haven’t recovered much. I have actually been cleaning out my old moldy house this week dressed in a hazmat suit, gloves, goggles, and respiratory mask. First day I did good and felt better than I had in a long time while I had the respirator own. After I took it off, then the pain and burning lips started.
The last 2 days were not good. I had a lot of trouble getting a good seal on the respirator and got exposed much more than I should have. I started feeling stomach pain in the house and got out right away. That was my queue the mask was leaking air. Not fun. My face is numb; my neck feels stiff; and my lips are burning.
Mold and chemicals are far worse than Lyme/co for me, but I believe that they are all intertwined. I don’t think I can get well simply with avoidance, although I could certainly be wrong.
Sorry to hear this WBF. I find it interesting we both get facial numbness. Sometimes mine will almost feel cold - like dental anethesia wearing off.
