Ceftriaxone missing a dose

Hello i recently started a new treatment that includes ceftriaxone iv 2gr every 24 hours AND well i missed a day would that cause a problema with resistance?

I used to skip doses alot in the beginning when I was feeling really bad. Never had a problem. Also did half doses sometimes until I started to improve some.

Are you taking another antibiotic with it? It’s thought that will help prevent resistance.

Nonetheless - I think you should be fine. Maybe have a discussion with your LLMD about it.

Thanks for your reply WV Mike i was concerned since it Is a hard protocol todo follow and making sure i have a catheter to do my treatment

Okay - I do think that it shouldn’t be an issue with resistance.

I bet the majority of members here have skipped a dose of abx here and there.

My protocol is based on not dosing daily. (Dr J clinic)
