Hello,
I’ve been treating Bartonella and Babesia now for 1 month and I think these infections are alternating at times Bartonella is dominant and then others Babesia is dominant. My LLND has me focusing on increasing the herbals for Bartonella steadily but I’ve had to completely cut back after a week of increasing too much. But now I feel like the Babesia is my dominant infection. But they both are really bad, I just want to know are you supposed to tailor the treatment based on the specific symptoms or should I just keep treating both of the infections at the same time? I’m using BAB 1 and BAR 1 from Beyond Balance. Herxing is horrific, I cannot function at all. I was thinking of adding in some Cryptolepis in very small amounts. I’m also doing Chinese Skullcap 3x/day. I’m bedridden most days from the psychiatric impact this is having on me but I know I need to take the treatment in order to beat this. My LLND isn’t too much help, so I’m navigating this on my own a bit. He is telling me to lay off the Sida, Houttuynia etc. Bc i’m on the Beyond Balance which was working quite well until
I increased too much too fast.
Is it more important to just stay consistent with treating both infections at the same time, or should I increase Babesia treatment if I feel like this might be causing me the most problems now?

I think I would treat the babs first... then go to Bart just because babs can be the hardest and worse to kill so I hear.

Go easy. Horrific herxing is not the goal. That will deplete your adrenal system and leave you feeling worse regardless of the infections. I understand wanting to knock things out, but treating this illness is about
your whole system, not just killing bugs. I recommend not adding anything antimicrobial right now. Detoxifying and strengthening things only, and even go slowly with those!

Thanks guys, appreciate your help!
I stopped treatment for about
4 days and kept feeling worse and worse so I’ve started back up VERY lightly with some extra detox things: Glutathione, GI Detox +, extra charcoal and Vit C and i’m trying consistently to dry brush and do salt soaks for my feet. My sleep is out of control so i’m trying to work on that.

Thanks so much, well, my detox routine is ok I think. My Dr doesn’t focus much on detox so I’m doing that part all myself. I drink a lot of dandelion tea, take milk thistle, liposomal glutathione, dry brushing, epsom foot baths, charcoal supplements, one called GI Detox Plus (by BioBotamicals), aloe very juice, and I make sure to get out of my apt and walk around everyday. I was given some Homeopathic detox remedies called Renelix and Itires and Lymphdarial but I tried them and it made me feel pretty bad. I’m sticking with the binders for now until I feel ready to add those. I also eat very very healthy: no grains, gluten, sugar, soy, dairy, etc. Basically I eat tons of veggies and some fruit and sometimes organic chicken.
Is there a better binder than charcoal? That is relatively easy to buy (online or in store)?

Sandyfeet what specific herbs did you use to help with Babs and Bart? I’m using Beyond Balance BAB 1 and BAR 1 but I am slowly going to add 1 drop of Cryptolepis tonight I think. My LLND says to hold off on Sida Acuta, Knotweed, Houttuynia until I am more stable. The Beyond Balance are potent as it is!

Thanks!
Did you start off with all those herbs in small doses then increase or start off with 1 herb at a time then add another etc? How long did it take you to get up to the recommended doses? (If u got there). I do have Buhner’s books and they’re sooo good. I just recently added Motherwort and Pasque flower and it’s greatly helping with my fear/anxiety etc.
I’m trying to stick with the Beyond Balance protocol but am slowly adding in 1 herb so right now I’m doing Chinese Skullcap 3x/day and I think adding in Cordyceps will be next. Did you have bad Herxing at the beginning? I’m just 2 months in and still on very low drops of the BB and herxing like crazy! Thanks again for the tips. I am finding this forum much more helpful/useful than my LLND!

Sandyfeet - what is it about
Artemisinin that worried you?
Would you mind sharing?

Sandyfeet... when you took all of those herbs you listed above (that treat both Bart and Bab) did you combine them altogether in one cup/pomegranate juice and take 3x/day? It’s fine to mix the Bart and Bab herbs together right? I know several of the herbs target both. I just made up a cup with: skullcap, cordyceps, red root, hawthorn, Houttuynia, milk thistle, Knotweed, Cryptolepis and Artemisia (wormwood) in very small doses and am going to try this tonight for the first time because something feels off with the Beyond Balance treatment right now and I think I need to try/find something else. I’ve never done just Buhner’s full protocol yet. I’m thinking maybe it will be less potent than the BB. I hope this mix isn’t going to knock me on my ass... but if it does I guess I can just decrease the dosage.
