Darkening Skin

Hey,

I'm in treatment for lyme, bartonella and babesia. Currently focused on babesia with mepron, mino, azithro and bactrim. My wife and I have noticed my skin is getting slightly darker with zero exposure to the sun.

Has anyone else experienced a darkening of the skin? Does anyone know what this could be?
My worry is that is could be adrenal fatigue problems or Addison's due to infrequent abdominal pain and low blood sugar on last blood test.

Yes!! Very interesting. I haven’t heard anyone mention this before. Before I got sick, I was very fair skinned and sunburned easily. The parts of my body that never saw the sun were fish-belly white and my tan lines would fade and disappear before the next summer.

Now, my skin has color even the parts that haven’t seen light for decades. I still have tan lines from many years ago. Now I tan and never sunburn like I used to. Very strange, but I have no explanation for any of this. Sometimes my armpits look tan and I worry it’s jaundice and my liver is dying. However, my liver labs have only been mildly elevated one time.

I hope someone else sees this and can shed some light.

P.S. - I have not treated with antibiotics. The changes in skin began after I got sick but before I knew about Lyme/co.

Interesting, it seems that both abx and lyme&co. can cause darkening skin.

Doxy and Mino cause darkening of the skin. Either that, or i've found they make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
