flowerpower1988: I'm sorry for taking your thread off-topic. I'll stifle myself now. Hey, WalkingByFaith:
You perfectly summarized how I feel, too! Not only about
the many online summits and how they're often a conduit to sell overpriced products and services, but also about
the money invested into questionable tests and supplements that don't always show benefit, as well as no one really knowing the truth about
any of this stuff.
It was frustration with all this stuff that caused me to stop taking all supplements, with the exception of digestive enzymes, two sleep products (Deep Sleep and Melatonin) and 3 mg of Naltrexone at bedtime. I've since stopped the Melatonin. about
once or twice a week, I now take either a full dose or a half-dose of a multivitamin.
I'm not even sure that what's plaguing me is "Lyme," considering I had several rounds of crushing fatigue, over the 11 years prior to my tick bite. That stated, I
do think the tick transferred "something" to me, because I did get worse afterward. I've had high IgG values for several things, for over four years now. I had two rounds of Doxycycline for the tick bite and another round about
11 months later, for an IgM-positive Chlamydia Pneumonia infection. So, my last antibiotic was over three-and-a-half years ago.
While I wouldn't recommend this cockamamie path to anyone else, it doesn't seem to be helping me
or hurting me. I'm just stuck. Like so many others, though our reasons vary.
Also, whether I eat pastured eggs; grass-fed beef; and organic, non-starchy vegetables ... or, potatoes, white rice, doughnuts, and ice cream, I find very little observable difference in how I feel. It's mostly how much I consume of a given food that's likely to bother me, as opposed to the type of food. But, I also know a diet based only on doughnuts and ice cream, as wonderful as it may sound, may not be the best idea, regardless of whether I feel bad or not.
Enough of that...
I downloaded all the videos from that "The DIY Detox Summit" you mentioned, while they were free, and plan to do the same with the "The Viral and Retroviral Summit" and "The Gut Solution" series. I have no intention of purchasing any of them, since most is either rehashed, crap, or rehashed crap. But, there are often a few good nuggets amid the dreck. I have summits coming out of my ears, should you be looking for anything.
Lastly, as I wrap-up this insomnia-fueled, semi-lucid ramble, here is something I
do recommend, should you wish to read more about
vitamins and minerals:
