If he runs and plays a lot and is very active, that can make creatine kinase go up. Mine was high once and the doctor freaked out thinking I may have had a heart attack but I informed him it was from exercise.

Sorry to hear about
your son having to miss school. Since he is not active, did doctor check thyroid function?

Dealing with kidney issues, I've looked up a lot of information about
things in this area. Not that I know a lot, but have read a lot of information and different thoughts.
One other thing that comes to mind, not to make you nervous, is loss of muscle fiber, which can be caused by a number of things, including infection or the use of certain medications. Again, just thinking of different possibilities, no matter how remote.
Finally, could it be a freak test result? Can they re-test to confirm?

It's easy to panic with all the tests - I'm good at that
. There are so many tests, one is bound to be "out of range" or abnormal for a simple reason. Hope all turns out well with it, as I'm sure it will.
