Cbs mutation and garlic craving

Hello.
I am homozygote for the cbs mutation which means that I have to avoid sulfur products and foods.
Treating a very very bad lyme with bart and bab for 3 years now, with antibiotics, hyperthermia, ivig, herbs, I tried almost everything.
I do the BVT forb3 months now.

That was the general situation.

I discovered thus mutation with 23andme last year and it explains why epsom salt baths were a real nightmare each time !

But I always have a candidiasis problem, even before lyme, I did a toxic shock in 2015 because of the toxins of candida and aureus staph and an hygienic pad...Death wasn t far this night and I spent one week in intensive care because of multiple organ failures.

So I know garlic is very helpful with candida ( and lyme too), and I crave it, really, I could eat tons of it everyday. But with this mutation I am afraid to eat the "wrong foods". I tested my ammonia level a few months ago and was in the low range.

Can a mutation be "inactive" ? I would try to add allicin to my killing protocol.
All advices and opinions are welcome !

I have CBS too and I couldn’t figure out why for a whole year of treatment this so called detoxing helpful epsom salt bath was making me feel 10x worse.

I also avoided sulfur foods: garlic, onions, eggs, (I can’t eat dairy because i’m allergic anyways), and I had avoided things like broccoli and other veggies before I even knew that because it made me feel off. I also was given glutathione which made me feel AWFUL so I stopped that as well.

They say not to take NAC with CBS but i’ve noticed my liver feels horrific without NAC so I keep taking it.

I do notice high doses of homemade Liposomal Vit C help more than anything.

I tried l-arginine to help with high ammonia/sulfur/CBS c/o my first LLMD but it lowered my BP too low and gave me severe heart palpitations!! I already have POTS so I didn’t need that.

I also notice filtering my water and drinking celery juice daily helps a ton.

I used to smell like ammonia my levels were so toxic...now thankfully I don’t, but it’s been a couple years journey.

anyways I crave garlic too!! but “wasn’t supposed to eat it” on an elimination diet of FODMAP/histamine/aip foods my dr worked out with me according to my sensitivities. however I started introducing it in smaller quantities (no more than 1/2 clove - then 1 clove per day, and it satisfied that craving and it doesn’t seem to bother me!! weird maybe but hopefully it will stay true as i’ve only introduces it for a couple weeks. I just like to listen to my body, if it’s craving something it must need it.

Those garlic cravings may come from your need for increased cysteine. Long story short, CBS mutations greatly affect taurine levels and you may not have enough of it. Adding some cysteine in your diet would allow for increased taurine production.
