Only Dox+Dap+CefP completely killed all forms including the microcolony form of B. burgdorferi persisters as shown by lack of any viable green spirochetal form after 15 day subculture. Abbreviation: Dox, doxycycline; CefP, cefoperazone; Cfz, clofazimine; Dap, daptomycin; Smx, sulfamethoxazole.

In vitro is a problem. In our bodies these bugs have hideouts in every corner, in vitro they simply drop the abx on the persisters put on a test tube where they have no place to hide..

Daptomycin is expensive and has to be given IV. Disulfiram, valproate, or carvacrol are possibly more realistic alternatives.

Had doctors visit today, instead of cefoperazone, clofazimine, the doc added Suprax 400mg and Septra DS daily to my Rocephin and Doxy.

Suprax and Rocephin are both cephalosporins. Are you taking both at the same time?

The doctor asked to take Suprax on the days off of IM Rocephin since Rocephin + Doxy made quick improvement for me. I can't take those horse injections daily for a long time.
