Could it be his age - puberty? Puberty seems to be a vulnerable time, similar to peri-menopause for women.
My bart stretch marks first appeared around age 10 or 11. I didn’t get “sick” until age 39. I did have ENT and later sinus problems, headaches, and aching pain in legs and forearms, tender feet, and occasional unexplained afternoon fevers around 99F.
My stretch marks faded during the last 10 years since I have been knowingly sick. My marks were embarrassingly visible when young and healthier and faded when much sicker. I have no idea why.
Did you ever see or communicate with Dr. J the pediatric dr? I wonder what he would say about
this.
Has he ever had VEGF tested? Maybe his VEGF increased. I’m not sure if VEGF is the cause of stretch marks or not. Googling doesn’t produce any studies that I can quickly find. Actually, I could not even find any scientific studies on bartonella stretch marks or striae. Seems it is “anecdotal.”
Of course, good ole lymescience pops up twice in the search to quickly warn the good people of the quackery and lies that the internet spreads about
stretch marks having anything to do with bartonella AND the lies that bartonella “cat scratch disease” is caused by anything other than cats and is NOT related to ticks or Lyme disease (ughhh).
