Hey have you treated your Bart in the past? I don’t Herx that much either. Are you detoxing a lot? I detox a ton and am guessing this is why I don’t Herx to often. Good luck

I haven’t treated bart consistently at all in the past... I only went after babesia for a long period of time. That’s why I’m so confused. Like is it not working or what. I dunno 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi jb I do the sauna for 30 minuets most days, every day I do Epson Salts baths, lemon water, the detox herbs in the Cowden protocol, dry brushing and light exercising. I definitely think the sauna helps the most.

I'm in a similar boat with A BAB.
Just started it as an herbal challenge. Hoping to provoke a response that would indicate that I have babesia.

My natro said to go kind of big, as far as dosage in the beginig, as that may be more likely to generate a response. Up to 25, 2x. Then I will back down.

I started with a couple drops for a day or two but today, day three I'm doing 15 drops , two times a day.

Did you not take Rifampin or Rifabutin after your Babs protocol with dr J clinic?


I second what WBF suggested with buhners herbs - see if you react.Houttuynia is one that many say causes a wicked herx.

Girlie I did take rifabutin. But only for like 3 months. I dunno why not longer. Then they were taking about putting me on maintenance. No way am I ready for maintenance! I’m having horrific hair loss that I’m dealing with now so somethings still up

Yah I am on maintenance now - but if I slip back or if I don’t improve some more I’ll be calling the clinic.
My next appt is in 6 months...

Did you fire your NP/PA (tell them you’re finished with them) or just never made the next appt.?

Interestingly Dr. J who focusses primarily on antibiotics (with a few herbals thrown in) has been the best for looking at functional issues with me.

But, two previous LLND's I had seen weren't interested....so I guess it just depends.


My last appt with Dr. J. he asked me about my pain (left side of my lower neck, shoulder blade, arm and hand)
I had previously refused the Lyrica he offered (I read too many bad things about it) ..so he gave me a prescription for a topical nerve pain that I was willing to try. I researched it and found that very little to none shows up in the blood..... I had my husband put some on the thoracic area of my back...and a little higher up...did that a few times...not sure if it really helped...negligible if it did.

So, I told Dr. J this when he asked if the pain cream was helping. I said 'not really'....he asked me where I was putting it. Then he told me to put it higher up...at the base of my head - top of the Cervical spine...and spread it down the side of my neck. He said that's what is 'driving' my pain...and if my muscles are tight in the thoracic area...that it's because of the C-Spine.
I haven't researched to see if he's right...but I'm going to try it...and see if it works.

1000- thanx for your response. Right now I’m on 11 drops 2x day...still feeling NOTHING haha. I’m gonna stay on 11 til next week because my dr appt isn’t til the 30th so I need to make it last. I could easily do the full dose of 15 drops 2x day but I’ll wait another week or so... this is crazy. It’s making me think that something else is going on. My biggest symptom right now is insane hair loss. Like really bad..lost 50% of my hair.... I’m trying to figure out why... could be anything

Did you have the hair loss before you started A-Bart? I remember having some mild hair loss along with scalp burning when I first started one of the herbs. I think it was Sida acuta.

No one told me why mine did either. Then it just started growing back a year later for no reason either. Have faith and keep treating. Sometimes things to magically resolve themselves (I would love for my weight to do this but at least I have my hair now...)

No it was just all over fall-out. It would grow out just fine but it would break and fall off. So growth wasn't the issue, it was just brittle

So glad to hear your hair grew back... did u ever take anything to help it or did u ever figure out what caused it? Im losing my mind over here over this! do you remember how long it took to grow back??
