Using only one antibiotic at a time

Hey guys so I want to know your thoughts on this. I switched lyme docs about 9 months ago because of this UVLRX treatement this new doc does at his office. Well I felt nothing from 10 of those treatments so he put me back on antibiotics back in july (minocycline only). At my appointment yesterday I asked him if he only does one antibiotic at a time or if he treats people with two or more at a time. He said there are many times he uses more than one antibiatic for treatment. Okay cool. He leaves the room after my appointment to put together a game plan for my next two months (until my next appointment) and then his nurse returns to my room with his plan. He wants me to continue minocycline for a month even switch to ommicef and cryptolepis (a fricken herb). So once again I'll only be on one antibiotic!!!!! Dude I've been sick for 3 ****ing years now. I just want a bomb of antibiotics to nuke anything that is left in me. I'm so ready to be done. Why is he messing around with my treatment so daintily. I told him all the stuff I was on before with my old lyme doc. What are everyone's thoughts? ... I don't want to switch and go back to my old lyme doc yet because I want to ride it out with someone who really gets to know me over a period of time but dang is he just trying to get more months worth of money out of me? Idk so frustrated. What would you guys do?

I agree with JL and Quin. One abx is not enough to make any progress. But also throwing everything but the kitchen sink at treatment, and spending a ton of $$$ on abx and herbals does not guarantee success either. Three years does seem to be a long time, but many here have been fighting much longer and are still not in 100% remission yet.

You need to take more control of your treatment yourself, either buying more abx on the open market, and/or adding more herbals to see what helps. Usually lack of progress means a co-infection is holding you back. We thought for a couple years at a 50% plateau that I had an abx resistant form of Babs, but when I switched over to another aggressive Bart protocol I started to make significant progress again. Here is a snapshot of my abx protocols my first three years. I too changed LLMDs after a year of mono-abx therapy from a very well respected LLMD at the time.

Thanks tick bite... I'm trying to take things in my own hands as much as possible cuz I'm done being jerked around... I am scared though to not have a LLMD... buy black market antibiotics and do it all by myself? Idk bout that either....but I read enough about these disease every day that I do have a lot of knowledge about them... I hate being a lyme warrior... i feel like a rogue crazy woman!!!

Bit my tick in June 2005 with EM Rash (treated 30 days by PCP with Doxy, but no sx). Weird sx started in 2008, and waisted a year with Neuro, then another year with Rhymi, and finally got to an LLMD in March 2010. Been treating ever since, and have exceptional diet and weight for an old guy. Lingering sx are all neuro and never any history of heart issues, except for borderline high BP under control for a very long time with a beta blocker. Annual physicals always had good Cholesterol and EKG tests.

When your time's up, times up. I guess I was lucky going to the ER when I did.

Thanks guys. I told his nurse everything and explained that I wanted to ramp things up....very scared hell be bull headed about it but I tried. If he gives me trouble I'll drop him like a hot potatoe. I felt like my old self today and now I'm back to being a fighter instead of a sad depressed blob (at least for the time being) so I'm enjoying my physical and emotional wellbeing. I will keep questioning doctors and sassing them if I have to until I get where I need to go.

Sounds like a good plan. TindiMax is often tolerated better than Flagyl. I also have seen a very wide range of Tini dosage protocols ranging from 2 days on, and 5 days off like I did, to one week on then 3 weeks off. LLMDs don't seem to be too consistent with this abx. GSE and plaquenil are also consider mild cyst busters.
