Antibiotic resistance to other infection like strept throat and others

Hello,

After almost 2 years on antibiotics i seem to be developing colds that are more harder to cure. I am now taking cefixime plus doxy in pulsed mode and i had a throat infection anyway, but this time it affected my throat and developed a hard to cure cough, i even got scared that bacteria related to cough develops resistance and i can be on danger. Should i be worried?

I don’t know anything about the drugs, but I understand your concern. Did the doctor swab your throat or do a blood test to find out what infection it is? Could be bacterial or viral. We all have both kinds - EBV, mycoplasma, chlamydia pneumonia, and more. It could be one of those flaring up. Can you get your LLMD to test this stuff?

Well there are quite a few different abx - so I doubt if you’ve taken so many that the dr won’t be able to find one for different infection like strep throat , pneumonia, etc

Thank you all for support. I guess the throat pain is going away, what a relief. Hope is not a false alarm.
