Hello, all. I'm new here but have had Lyme for a long time, been in treatment for three years now. I use many of the herbs from the Buhner protocol.
I'm too chemically sensitive to take a lot of herbs in general without herxing (my doses are about 4-5 drops of tinctures rather than 1/4 teaspoons), but my pain level is so high. I'm also chronically exhausted and have brain fog/fatigue and can't function well. After three years I'm starting to feel a bit hopeless. Any ideas/help?
You sound very much like me. Mold is a big part of my issues. After moving out of the house and into my car, I reduced some symptoms. Most recently, I have tried Rx anti-fungals for the first time. Took Fluconazole daily for 2 months and didn’t notice much except bowel function improved initially but then worsened after food cravings sent me a sugar frenzy.
Then, I was put on Nystatin. It was rough at first, as I herxed on it. After I got to full doses and got past the herxing, I had improvements in overall pain and chemical sensitivities. This is the first improvement I have had in sensitivities for quite some time. Along with the improvements in sensitivities, I noticed I was able to easily increase doses on some other herbs without herxing.
Deal with mold in your environment and mold/yeast/fungal in your GI tract. Should help. P.S. - I first had big improvements in April 2018 after over a month of Candicid Forte. I expelled a massive amount of what I now think was yeast/fungal with possibly some ropeworm. Had noticeable improvements in numerous symptoms for weeks afterwards, but it all gradually came back, probably because I didn’t keep a clean diet. When I tried to replicate the success by taking Candicid Forte again, it did not have the same effect. I am now on Rx antifungals and have some improvements once again.
