Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone else experiences stiff swollan fingers especially in the morning when waking up? Ever since I got my bite and EM rash I feel like my hands have not been the same, they are always puffy and even feel tender to the touch. I don't know if this is a Lyme Issue or if it is some kind of arthritis. I did noticed some rashes on my eye lids and stomach as well, maybe it is Psosratric arthritis? I know that I do have a terrible immune system and have suffered with fibromyalgia even before my Lyme issues so maybe it's an underlying autoimmune disorder. my mom also has a high CRP level, dies anyone know if that is hereditary? When my Lyme scare began and I started having these symptoms my doctor did a SED blood test which came back as 6MM so normal but that was right after my bite and my issues are getting worse. I have an appointment with my promary Doctor in two weeks, is there any other blood test you feel should be done? Thank you for your help

Is it like reynauds? I've read that reynauds can be an autoimmune thing. That and the blood vessels are damaged by bart and babesia.

Unsightly, I know a little bit about reynauds disease but not much, my symptoms are more of a swollan feeling like I can't bend my fingers all the way as opposed to what I think reynauds is which is numbness and freezing cold fingers and hands. I will look into it more though. Thank you for your reply!

Thank you Jova for that information. If possible could you post in this thread what your blood test shows? I hope it turns out that you do not have an autoimmune issue. Thanks again!

Thank you Jova! So is ANA not a blood test that a normal primary doctor would be able to do? Because of money issues I can longer afford to see my LLMD so I am left with doctors that my insurance covers. Is there a blood test for autioimmune issues that a general doctor is able to order? I try to inform myself as much as possible but issues like autioimmune disease are so complex.

I have this symptom with my hands. I attribute it to peripheral neuropathy because it coincides with flares of nerve pain in my fingers. Does it come and go for you at all? Any patterns you notice? When mine is happening it's usually worse in the morning, after being cold, or after doing intricate work with my fingers (like hand sewing or building LEGOs with my kid).

For what it's worth, I have no markers of autoimmune disease, and no high inflammatory markers except for c4a (which can mean Lyme or mold).

I treat it with curcumin, rest, topical arnica oil, topical CBD oil, topical essential oils (especially geranium, peppermint, and frankincense).

I don't think CRP levels are hereditary except in the sense that autoimmune conditions can be hereditary.

Your doctor can do a test for CRP, ANA, sedimentation rate, and other autoimmune markers. Definitely mention the skin issues so that your doctor can order the tests on suspicion of psoriatic arthritis, even though in my opinion there's a good chance your symptoms are just associated with Lyme, co-infections, and possibly other issues like mold.

Thank you saraeli, that is very helpful information. My symptoms defiantly come and go but are always worse in the morning. I have never heard of the c4a marker, is that a blood test that should be done for Lyme or mold symptoms? I appreciate you help, thanks again.

C4a has only ever been run for me by an LLMD, so I'm not sure if a regular doc will do it for you. I've also heard that one particular lab - National Jewish - is the most reliable at testing for it. LLMDs tend to test for c4a when they are diagnosing whether someone has Lyme or mold, or when they are monitoring overall inflammation.

I hope you get some answers soon that lead to help!

Mine don’t look visibly swollen, but they feel tight and stiff in the small joints. Toes, too. I used to think bartonella, but I guess other things that cause inflammation could cause it. Mine got much better on Buhner’s Lyme and bartonella protocols, but came back this year after more mold exposure.

High C4a is supposed to be a mold indicator based on Shoemaker’s work.

High C3a is supposed to be Lyme. If both are high, I can’t remember. You can google “C4a Shoemaker” and find info.
