Question about Cordyceps

Hi,

Buhners neurocore contains cordyceps sinensis, the one i'm taking in capsule form is cordyceps militaris. Is there a difference, anyone know?

I notice that many brands, including Stamets/Host Defense is cordyceps militaris. Just thought i'd ask.

There is a difference in the amounts of cordycepin and polysaccharides in each species, but I don't think it's of much importance. I'll have to check the book again for what Buhner has to say...

You also need to consider if you're getting fruiting bodies or just the mycelium + rice substrate. Mycelium is ok too though, it just has different compounds and/or different amounts.
