Next Move

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.I have realized my doctor is just collecting money off appointments and supplements .I emailed her today and told her I did not think disulfiram was working for me anymore since I am mostly dealing with Bart I feel like I am just taking the pill and nothing is changing.I do not herx at all so I have nothing to measure my progress.I have been with her for a year and she have not checked my cd57 at all for any comparison.I asked her had she used the des bios on any of her patients because I was trying to think of alternatives to help me.She said instead of homeopath she think I would be better suited by herbal remedies with quantifiable amounts of herbs rather than homeopathy.This could include beyond balance,nutramedix,or Byron white herbal drops.She said MC-Bar 1 combination dropper would be an excellent fit if I need additional Bartonella coverage.Maybe I am expecting to much from her but I just don’t know what to do next.I feel so lost.I would like to stay under a Doctor so I can have my blood work check because my iron is low but I have lost all hope in her.She also had me taking houttuynia with disulfiram and when I questioned her about the ethanol she said she suggest I put it in 6 to 8oz if water and let it sit for 15 min.This will allow the alcohol to fully off gas and leave the herbal essence alone.Can anyone advise?

Hey saraeli.I started taking disulfiram in Jan but only have taken houttuynia for a week.I never herxed but in the beginning the disulfiram did slow down my twitching some but that’s it.I would like to try the des bios kit but she said she think I would be a better fit for herbs and not homeopath.I do want to try the herbs but I was saying that she seems as she really don’t know and is just going along with whatever I say because I told her the disulfiram was not working anymore and her suggestion was to keep taking it until I mentioned trying herbs.I worry because I do not herx so it seems to me that nothing is killing the disease.

Given the level of sensitivity to alcohol people are supposed to have with disulfiram, leaving tinctures in water is not enough to neutralize the alcohol. How long have you been on disulfiram? Have you had no improvement or herxing at all while on it?

Is there a reason why you aren't interested in trying the herbal medicine your doctor suggested? I'm in favor of DesBio kits, just curious why not try one of the well-regarded herbal protocols.

What does your doctor say when you ask to be re-tested for CD57 levels? Any doctor can test iron levels, even urgent care. I definitely shy away from doctors who seem to be interested in pushing expensive treatments and supplements. Sounds like she thinks active infections are still the problem, I guess?

Hey Girlie.Yes I know but she didn’t even say anything about it until I asked about it..There is a functional medicine doctor about an 45 minutes away from me that I found out about from Blakeleysmom I guess I will give her a try she says she treat Lyme.I am so disheartened about my Lyme Doctor.I never herxed so I don’t have no way of seeing progress because I am the same from 1 year.I have stopped the night sweating though.I guess that’s some improvement but she never checked my cd57 to compare.

Nope - the alcohol isn’t going to dissipate just by doing that.

I’m surprised she doesn’t know that.

Hi Blakeleysmom .i guess it’s just hard for me to move on since this is and was my first doctor after having the run around with regular doctors.I know at this point I have to do something.I will be trying the des bios homeopath because she really can’t say it will not work.Nothing she has given me seems to have worked either.

I believe many MDs and even some herbalists I know, do not believe that homeopathy is anything. The remedies are so “watered down,” they say, that there is nothing there.

I do not know enough about homeopathy to even discuss it, honestly, but we have seen positive results from it and have friends who use homeopathic remedies frequently.

My family has been regular users of herbs for all sorts of ailments for around 10 years and so believe they work. Blakeley’s ND has Lyme herself (and her sister died with Lyme in the 70s) and used Byron White products for years with her patients, but when it wouldn’t help her get rid of her own symptoms, she began using homeopathy and feels it is stronger.

I have no opinion about it other than our own experience. Just giving info Ive heard.

Resolution of sweating is something for sure!

Not all llmd’s use the cd57 - mine doesn’t - and my previous LLND didn’t either.
