Rifabutin- can I pulse?

I’ve been pulsing rifabutin the last few weeks for bartonella. I just want to double check that rifabutin is a antibiotic that can be pulsed. The directions on the prescription bottle are telling me to pulse it (five days on and two off).

I do, M,W,F 2weeks on then 2 weeks off. Soon to be 2 weeks on and 3 weeks off

trekkar - so how long were you on 2 weeks on/2 weeks off before going to 3 weeks off?

I went from two weeks on (plus a third week of Alinia) one week off to
One week on and three weeks off.

Some people say it's not the type of abx that can be pulsed as it causes issues every time you introduce it,, some say it should because it burns your adrenals and it's too heavy on your body :shrug:.

Yes it is. My llmd (Dr J) pulses it.

Dr J is one of the most experienced, LLMD there is.
He was on the front lines over 20 years ago and his license to practice was taken away for treating patients for more than a month or two and going against the IDSA guidelines.
He had to go to court and prove his case to get reinstated.
