Hey folks. Hope you're all well.

I've been looking through the forums for the length of time needed to treat candida. Dr M R recommends a month long course.

I also saw Astroman treated for maybe a month or so and others like tickbite666 have done so as well.

I've looked through but I haven't been able to find out how long pirouette treated for?

I am just wondering if people have there own experiences to share. Obviously not medical advice. I am just wondering what to expect. I am aware that fluconazole is a harsh drug for the liver. That said, rifampin is said to be a harsh drug as well but I am not too worried if I'm honest.

I'm considering this as well. I've got a terrible fungal problem. OAT test was very high on fungal markers. I've been getting skin infections non-stop. First on my groin, and then on my chest. Dr thought it was psoriasis until the biopsy came back fungal.

I'm curious Cignet or anyone out there, why start w/ diflucan? Isnt nystatin an easier drug to tolerate and maybe lower hanging fruit?

Gotcha. Thanks cignet. I guess thats what frigthens me, the systemic effect. I think I want to start slow. Limited to the digestive tract sounds nice, hopefully can help w/ my digestive issues. Keep us posted if you try it.

Remember, we dont eradicate it completely. Its in us forever, just at immune manage-able, unnoticeable levels.

When its causes obvious symptoms, it gets worse every time it comes back. Its said it learns tolerance to the ammo used, seems to be true.

Many candida herbs/natural stuff (about eight of them) worked for me pre -lyme treatment and while my immune cell level was still on the charts. After all that and then permanent low immunity, candida only backed off with RX. Lyme treatment itself is hard on immune cells too.

Having this many times, nystatin pills eventually did nothing. Diflucan was the only ammo left that worked. I herxed on it. I would also get antibodies for C.Albicans, was not imagining this like one gastro Dr said. (what an idiot and A-hole he was!!!).

My Gen Dr was on my side with this and he learned a lot on it from me in real life. He saw before and after, paper test results and patient symptoms.

Pirouettes used powder nystatin orally. I never tried that.

Astro what kind of changes did you notice on your blood results? Amazing story and glad your dr was able to learn through you, we need more drs who believe in this stuff

My antibodies did appear rather fast with candida, and corrected rather fast too. It was a Quest tests and more complicated than just pos or neg.

I forget the different time frame antibodies, but the test had all of them.

Past and current antibodies were shown. The current antibodies became past (were tracked) along with my symptom relief. This pattern was shown/repeated with three diff Can. infections.

In the old days, I just guessed my whole way thru it. Im done guessing and have documented proof should I need Rx again.

Oh.....C4a test was inline with this. Nothing online about C4a and candida. Now there is if anyone reads this. 55,000 to 1,400 in a few months. Coincidence?

I did the strictest version of the candida diet for 16 weeks without cheating. I renamed it the famine diet. I made my own 'bread' (coconut flour) just to have something more to eat. I was cooking all the time but it was worth it. I now do a modified version. I have an ebook on the full Candida diet but not sure how to link. If anyone wants it. The one thing I will say is that you cannot cheat. Many people half do it, give in to a craving and that repopulates the candida. Summer is easiest time because we naturally eat lighter. I also take probiotic like supplement for yeast.

I am on day 24 of 30 days of fluconazole and I'm definitely seeing some improvements, but pretty tired today.

I have forced myself to get out and jog every few days which may also be why I'm feeling a little better. When I am done with fluconazole I am going to work hard on healing my gut.

I continue to be impressed by any of you who can exercise whilst in treatment of any kind. Exercise was my most favorite hobby/passion. I can now only walk. Every single time I go back to cardio and/or weights I feel it. So you are much stronger than you know. Good luck.
