I'm quiet a little embarrassed to post it bt screw it. This has happened in the past before I even knew I had lyme etc. I was just laying there today and u know how u feel nerves twitch or spasm. Well I felt a muscle spasm in "there " but didnt feel I had to use the rest room. If I didnt run to the toilet I would have had an accident, as in crap myself just lose control of your bowels, has anyone experienced this? It's like I dont have to go #1&2 sometimes bt just lose control of bowels like a weakness feeling amd there it goes. Its embarrassing

Lyme can cause Bell’s Palsy of the Gut… nerves can be affected. Buhner recommends Stephania and Japanese Knotweed if you suspect this.

For me, Lyme has definitely affected my gut. I’ve been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis but I suspect the root cause is Lyme, and having only found out I was positive for Borrelia and Bartonella this past month (likely an 8 year old infection as a had Lyme in 2013), I believe it has caused chronic gut issues. Hoping treating for Lyme now will treat the root cause of my UC like symptoms… urgency, bleeding, pain in the gut, etc…

Your case is relatively mild but a good sign that it’s affecting your gut and maybe something to pay attention to

The opposite can also happen , as in constipation. I have dealt with that on a smaller scale off and on for several years. Don't be embarrassed. Many here deal with same. It's like me peeing all the time again. You can't help it but work on finding an answer, as you are.
