would you test this tick?

My husband pulled a deer tick off himself this AM. He was doing yard work on Sat., which is probably when he picked it up. Today is Tues. He immediately applied adrographis & bentonite clay & took extra (3000 mg) astragulas as soon as he pulled it off. Called family doctor to request a preventative antibiotic & he doesn't prescribe them. Will only give antibiotic if he is presenting with symptoms.

We saved the tick. Would you bother testing it since he immediately did all the Buhner prescribed protocols? I have been treating for lyme & co for years with herbs & supplements, & if we don't need to spend more money on this demonic plague I'd be happy. But I also don't want to miss any opportunities of catching any potential problem early.

What would you do? I know it's easy to follow the fear & panic because of what we've all been thru, but what would logic tell you to do?

I would also start doxycycline.

And find a doctor that takes TBD's seriously.

definitely test it of you have the chance

very few of us do and the resulting mystery over what could be at the root of the issue haunts us for years.

you only have one opportunity to do this though - so use the best lab - not the cheapest

I would have him go back to the dr and tell him he has symptoms and get a few weeks of antibiotics.

“ TICK BITES - Embedded Deer Tick With No Signs or Symptoms of Lyme (see appendix):
Decide to treat based on the type of tick, whether it came from an endemic area, how it was removed,
and length of attachment (anecdotally, as little as four hours of attachment can transmit pathogens). The risk of transmission is greater if the tick is engorged, or of it was removed improperly allowing the tick's contents to spill into the bite wound. High-risk bites are treated as follows (remember the possibility of co-infection!):
1) Adults: Oral therapy for 28 days.
2) Pregnancy: Amoxicillin 1000 mg q6h for 6 weeks. Test for Babesia, Bartonella and Ehrlichia.
Alternative: Cefuroxime axetil 1000 mg q12h for 6 weeks. 3) Young Children: Oral therapy for 28 days.
EARLY LOCALIZED - Single erythema migrans with no constitutional symptoms:
1) Adults: oral therapy- must continue until symptom and sign free for at least one month,
with a 6 week minimum.
2) Pregnancy: 1st and 2nd trimesters: I.V. X 30 days then oral X 6 weeks
3rd trimester: Oral therapy X 6+ weeks as above.
Any trimester- test for Babesia and Ehrlichia 3) Children: oral therapy for 6+ weeks.”

I would not chance getting chronic Lyme - and treat for 4 weeks
