Got my 1st Pfizer Covid shot today

I have bart. I have been reluctant to get the vaccine because I am currently being treated for Bart with DesBio....and I did not want anything to "interfere" with that. I was waiting on a progress report from my LLMD before I made a decision about the vax. But with everything surging...and my kids about to return to school. I decided to go ahead and get vaccinated. It's only been about 3 hours...but so far so good. I will update for those that are interested. Would love for others to discuss what things they weighed about the vax and what they ultimately decided to do. Would love to hear how their body responded to getting the vax.

I booked mine as I thought the benefits outweighed the cons but my herbalist had me cancel it. She thought it best I do it when my immune system is in better shape. I do have a friend with chronic Lyme who had hers with no problems at all. It’s good to hear you’re doing well too. Strangely, I have a friend who is fit and healthy who had it become really ill afterwards.

I wasn't in the middle of heavy treatment when I got vaxed so my decision was less complicated. Basically, covid is never going away and I didn't want to take my chances any longer with an unprimed immune system.

My first shot was fine - just a sore arm and possibly a mild headache from it.

Second shot gave me intense flu like symptoms for about 8 hours the next day. I even threw up a couple of times. I was back to baseline the day after that.

12 hours later and I am still good. Minor stiffness where they gave me the needle. Otherwise everything is normal.

How long between doses ?

I’m thinking I’ll get mine next week - which will be 6 weeks since first shot.

Girlie: I did 4 weeks because I was anxious to just get it over with, but I think a minimum of 12 weeks is ideal for longer lasting protection and fewer/milder side effects.

Most two-dose vaccines have a 3 to 12 month dosing gap, not weeks - hence the latest talk around a 3rd booster for the covid vaccines.

For protection from Delta wave one shot of mRNA looks to be somewhere between 40% and 70% effective against symptomatic illness. I think Pfizer was on the low end.

Thanks everyone for sharing. 24 hours later and I am doing fine. Our testimonies are going to help people make a decision that are on the fence. Call me naïve, but I strongly believed that I would be OK if I got Covid. On a daily basis, to fight Bart...I am on so many
herbs (garlic, tumeric, ginger, maca)
juices (carrot, beet, barley grass)
seeds (chia, flax)....
supplements ( NAC, B Activ, Querctin with Bromelain, Vit D) and DesBio for Bart

That I felt like if I got my symptoms would be mild. The only reason I got vaxed is because my wife and daughter got vaxed....and they were very concerned that I was not vaxed. So I did it for them...not for me. Hope it does not backfire!

Lol - My son was really pushing me and was angry when I initially wasn’t sure if I was going to get one.

Between him, my workplace and now knowing that without a vaccine passport I will not be able to travel without one - I caved.

I have an appt Aug 28th.
First one was July 17th

So 6 weeks for me.

Last time I had killer fatigue for a few days - I hope I don’t this time.
Sept 3 I am going to a two day concert. We will be driving 3 1/2 hours to get there and staying overnight.
