i believe its new since becoming ill with this thing
of course anyone who had pressure on their skin for any time will observe some kind of mark - but with this illness the amount of pressure needed to leave a mark is much less and the marks last longer.
the elasticity of the skin is changed in some way
since the skin is changed - i believe its due to a bacteria that lives in the skin so either lyme or bart - bart is known to disrupt blood vessels in the skins dermis layers and also the lymph vessels there - as well as the collagen fibrils which make up the skins tough elastic properties - so my vote would be primarily bart as the main cause - its well known for causing a v wide spectrum of skin effects - apart from the bart streaks - plaques, hypo pigmentation, hyper pigmentation, red spots, papules etc etc
however its possible that whatever other mechanisms are in place that cause systemic inflammation will age the skin more also to some extent - causing loss of elasticity. so other infections, leaky gut, heavy metals, mold etc could in theory all make some contribution - however if you have odd other varied skin issues - i would say that raises the suspicion of bart.
