Yah like u said its prob inflam in your nervous system and small vessels from bart. Besides treating the infection, which may flare those symptoms too, I am not sure how much there is to do. I just tested positive on the cunningham panel for autoimmune encephalitis caused by bartonella so I started IVIG, which could help. Plasmapheresis is the next step.
There are tons of supplements than can make a small difference with neuroinflammation (liposomal curcumin, PEA, the active ingredient delsium is believed to supress microglia and reduce neuro inflam, sulphurophane/brocolli seed extract). Some people benefit from magnesium and IV glutathione, which can lower the glutamate excitotoxicty effects from the neuro inflam.
Some people do steroid pulses while still on antibiotics to keep brain inflam from being too extreme. In my experience benzodiazepans like ativan help a lot. Some people are against taking them frequently bc of the addictive potential, but I use them bc neuro-bart hell is just too unbearable. People with mast cell disorders also take them bc they stabilize mast cells, which are def contributing to neuro inflam in bart. Tramadol also takes the edge off.
Unfortunately, for many with bad brain bart infection and inflammation this disease is an extreme daily hell.
