Subcutaneous glutathione?

I haven't tried glutathione injections but I've reconstituted several medications/peptides for injection, so I thought I'd give you my thoughts.

Personally, I wouldn't do this and I'll tell you why. However, if you are insisting on doing it I would add one extra step. Which is to run the final solution through a 0.22 micron syringe filter.

A common misunderstanding of bacteriostatic water is that it sterilizes compounds. This is not the case. It inhibits bacterial growth, but it doesn't actually kill bacteria.

The other concern I have is that supplemental L-glutathione is actually not synthesized but rather extracted from a yeast fermentation process.

When you buy a powder as supplement and it says 100% pure.... That's actually not true with most compounds. With the exception of bad badges, it's usually anywhere from 98% - 100% pure.

This is not often a problem, as the remaining 1 - 2 % is often solvents used during the extraction process and other things like harmless byproducts.

But this is not always the case. Now the syringe filter will probably filter out most harmful things but this is not a guarantee.

What's concerning with this example (glutathione) is that because L-glutathione comes from yeast fermentation, I'm going to guess that the byproducts can sometimes be more harmful than usual.

Again, if you do go through with it, I would use a syringe filter. There are several types, I would personally pick a PVDF filter because of the low protein binding. Don't use a PES filter because the bacteriostatic water will degrade it and it will end up in the solution.

I was about to buy those. I wonder how many dosing I could get from it, but it seemed pretty good.
