Hi all. So after 13years of living with the diagnosis of MS i got a ray of hope last month. After sending my bloodwork to Armin labs it came back positive for lyme. Im in a private clinic undergoing my 3/4 week antibiotic IV treatment, after that 1 month oral antibiotics. For now not much has changed but im hopeful for the future. Any experience on what to expect in the future?

We hear from many people who have been misdiagnosed with MS, and many of us went through tests to rule it out early on in our illnesses, so it's definitely worth addressing the Lyme angle now that you have positive test results.

Others on this site have much more experience than I do with pharmaceutical approaches to Lyme treatment, but I can tell you that the duration of treatment you described is far too short to make any difference in a long-term Lyme infection.

Were you tested for coinfections, like Bartonella and Babesia? Ticks usually are carrying more than one type of infection, many with overlapping symptoms that can make people quite ill.

Are you seeing an LLMD (Lyme-literate medical doctor) for treatment?

I echo what Saraeli wrote.
It’s really important that you find a Lyme literate doctor to treat you.
Treatment will be many months to years - and the Dr needs to look into the coinfections that come with Lyme - two in particular : Bartonella and Babesia.

Thank you for your answers. Yes i finnally found the only doctor here in Slovenia who is lyme literate. He prepared me on a long journey, and said this is just the begining. Through all the years all my MRI were more or less the same with no new or active lesions (i have only a few). But i did the mistake of blindly trusting neurologisists. The deciding moment came when after all the treatments i went through over the years the doctor said i had a nonactive primary progressive MS and that i should just learn to live like that. Thats when i found my doctor who advised me to send my bloodwork to germany because the testing in our county is nonsufficient. I know im in for a long joirney but at least im on one. This site has filled me with new information and hope for the future! 😁

Good to hear that there aren’t any new lesions on your brain!

While on treatment - you should be detoxing to help lessen the herxheimer reactions caused by the die off of bacteria.
Here’s some to consider:

- Drink plenty of water during the day
- Take warm Epsom salt baths.
- Light excercise (if you’re able)
(I like to go on my elliptical and follow up with a warm Epsom salt bath)
- Take Nutramedix Burbur and Pinella.

Hi, and thank you. Yes im in the clinic for 1 month where my treatment plan includes many detoxing treatments, massages and nutrition plans, vitamin IV's to help my system cope. After i started treatment i had my first wheelchair experience which lasted for the next 10 days. Last week i had a 3day improovement where i walked 3miles after a long time (3 years). It went back to worse this week but im hopefull for the future. 😉
