I do not have ARA290 now, I ordered mitochondrial peptide SS31 and Larazotide acetate - zonulin antagonist.

Larazotide is interesting as well, I can't eat gluten at all actually, so that would interesting to see if it works.
I think that I'm going to hold off on the peptides for now just for financial reasons and to focus on antibiotics right now, but if I start again I will let you know!

After reading the information posted by all above, talking with dcd and then following up with reading about an hour online, there seems to be little downside to ARA-290. Is there something I'm missing because it seems this would be a useful tools for doctors.

The help it is said to provide for neuropathy seems great, and I was really surprised to see it is one of the few treatments I have come across that actually is good for the kidney and kidney disease, according to a couple of studies.

No that I'm view this negatively, but, again, is there something I missed that could shows this could damage? Just can't find that, which is a good thing.

The TA-1 definitely helped, although I have to admit I do wonder about that hair-loss side effect that you mentioned sometimes.

The MOTS-c is very, how do I say this,... it's a hit or miss. In the end I kind of gave up on it.

The thing is you have to get the dosing just right. So you either end up all night with lot's of energy, which is actually really great for a change because I always sleep way too much due to the Lyme/Bart.

However, the majority of times the dosing is just off and you get the complete opposite effect where you're just worn out for 2-3 days. I feel like it's very finicky that way for a lack of a better word.

I think what happens (I have very little evidence for this), is that MOTS-c requires several things to be "in place" such as nutrients like copper and other things that I haven't identified yet, in order to "heal" and maybe "boost" the mitochondria'.

However, if even the slightest thing is off in your body, you end up with a body that's trying too hard, doesn't get to "go" and quickly gets worn down. Like throwing more fuel into a misfiring car's engine almost.

Definitely. It seems to help for all types of inflammatory neuropathy. It was being studied for sarcoidosis in one trial. I think Araim pharma picked that because it’s a common type of autoimmune neuropathy where there’s a known cause (they don’t know the cause of many types of autoimmune neuropathies so the studies get hard to define, you need a well-defined use case, it’s a real problem in small fiber research), but all indications are it helps w all types of inflammatory SFN. Seems to stop inflammation at the nerve root regardless of cause by activating the IRR. Can’t guarantee you’ll react like I did, but it certainly helped me

I’m starting to think the arthritis I have is reactive arthritis. Found a few people whose started the same way w several other confirmatory symptoms (burning when peeing, scaling of the toes). One guys started w the vaccine. And it frustrates me that ARA is a trigger for this reactive arthritis, i just can’t win, I want to be on this stuff!

i think the thing we have to get our head around with this disease / group of diseases RW is that there are no absolute black and white answers - and looking for them is a kind of wild goose chase that becomes super super stressful and sends us down a rabbit hole of despair.

the reason being that the very thing we want - certainty, to put our minds at rest - is actually an impossible goal in an area of science where there are so many blanks - or missing pieces of knowledge.

this is very different to our everyday experiences of things in other areas of or lives - where we have at least the perception of certainty.
we know the sun will come up at a certain time tomorrow,
we know if we drop a ball it falls to the floor
we know how much money is in our bank account, and how much will be left is we spend some. etc

these are all areas with much much higher levels of knowledge and as a result much much higher degrees of certainty.
with subjects like the leading edge of emerging infectious diseases and how they impinge on the human immune system - we know less than 50% of the knowledge needed to know what causes what with a high degree of certainty - perhaps less than that, so it needs a very different way of thinking about it to avoid it sending us round the bend.

some might say that its almost pointless because there is so much we don't known - but i disagree - humans have powerful brains capable of dealing with high degrees of uncertainty - once we stop looking for absolutes and accept everything is shades of grey - or degrees of probability.

this way we start to think in terms of multiple possibilities - each with differing degrees of probability / likelihood
and on that basis we can start to gather evidence and clues - however small - against each of these possibilities - and we then add to this growing picture with the evidence of our experiences, trials, and tests over time - such that gradually a more developed picture starts to emerge.

there may be missed steps - where we go down one path for a while - only to find a now piece of the puzzle that contradicts that direction and sets us on a different path - but that is also life.
we live and learn.
And even this apparent "missed step" is also actually a step forward - rather than a set back - as, once we are thinking like this - each new piece of information helps build the picture and increases our chances of being on the right track.

of course its not easy, not as simple as there being a single objective truth/answer that we can discern accurately from the off - but that was an illusion all along - and nothing useful can come from it - we have to instead deal with the world the way it is - grey, complex, nuanced with multiple concurrent possibilities.

But just accepting that fact - and that we can build a useful level of understanding upon which to make decisions with a reasonable probability of success - even in this complex nuanced world over time with effort - is i think the way forward.

some people are better able - or perhaps more used to doing this - perhaps it is nearer to their default or habitual way of thinking from the past - but trust me - everyone can do it.
others rely on doctors to do it for them ( its essentially what the differential diagnosis method is) which is also fine - but no one will be as diligent or care as much about your health as you do - or know as much of the detail of your case as you do - so there is a powerful argument for doing it for yourself - even if only to aid the discussions with your doctors.

over here you don't have much choice - there are few if any LLMD's and doctors including ID doctors either know nothing of the subject - or are in denial of existence - afraid of litigation if they treat and afraid of litigation if they don't !
