I've had ribs slightly pop out of place along the mid/upper spine. Its not painful, but limits movement with a heavy / internal stuck feeling, because, well.....it is stuck. It will pull down my shoulder and tug up at my hip. This happens way less now.
There are also (at one time at least) online vids on Torso fascia "unwinding". John Barnes, the fascia guru, had this on video one time. You just slowly start whipping your arms around while twisting your body carefully, start slow. As you loosen up...you then speed it up. You basically look like a "spaz" gong nuts (ha ha)....or something that kids would do just having fun. It does work to some extent.
The fascia runs thru your muscles and also over/around organs, its the netting that keeps stuff on place and gets tight in some people. You can also do abdominal release by slowly laying on a soft 4" dia inflatable ball. Starting on the outside, then slowly (minutes) moving toward the belly button / center. This can take 30 min sometimes. Or do a little every day / best before bed, taking small "footsteps" if needed.
When lymies sometimes say they feel like they're wearing a "straight jacket" (I felt like that)- its the fascia that tightened up in response to a body "in danger mode" (in this case, a chronic illness).
