Im a perfect example, but we are all a little different.
My adrenals are "edgy". You either know and feel this...or you dont. I can go from a "couch slug" to "superman" in a split second, this is not normal for the general population LOL. (It was good for sports, but nothing else.)
Caffine gives me the jitters, sometimes sweats, and then a caffeine crash a couple hrs later. No thanks.
Caffine can also increase blood sugar by over-energizing the adrenals (cortisol is the signal for sugar release into the blood). My A1c increases from caffeine in the past over a few months.
But.....Very small amounts of only a few select energy drinks (some have adaptogens in them) are all that I need if im super tired. these are not the sugar and caffine loaded brands- ive read many lables. there is a difference. No this will not kill me depite what some seam to think (ha ha).
I also use holy basil as a calm adaptogen.
Adrenals work with the thyroid as a team. One problem can lead to the other- goes both ways.
