I used to guess at specific diets. But then years ago I slowly got a lot of things tested here and there to spread the cost out. So I know what I can and cannot eat. The in between stuff is what gets my gut in trouble.
I start to get comfortable with eating too much off that caution list and then sooner or later gut problems reside, usually being candida and or Sibo or both. Which started up a month and a half ago again. I don’t have parasites.
I did not have patience to wait for the snails pace that the gut clinic and their tests move at ...it’s ridiculous. I already started to self treat SIBO with supplements and diet restrictions even before I took the breath test so the breath test will probably come back negative. Oh well I was miserable.
Many doctors now realize and if you read online that SIBO patients do have problems with FODMAP foods. For some odd reason not many people mention that here.
So I won’t back to almost no FOD maps. That is actually worse than added table sugar believe it or not.
Tested positive for leaky gut in the past as well, that’s from Sibo and candida.
L glutamine heals damaged microvilli in The gut lining.
There’s a proven connection between SIBO and low or pinched off available bile. 200 mg of ox bile with meals is a very big deal in my case, Versus HCl pepsin stomach acid which really doesn’t do much. This obviously helps digest but it also kills SIBO, so it’s helpful to take on an empty stomach. I also take neem and oil of oregano at the same time. This is usually when I wake up on an empty stomach. During lunch and dinner I take a high-quality probiotic. At first this bothered me, now it seems to be going well.
I also take magnesium glycinate before bed which helps morning regularity. With Sibo if stuff is just sitting in your gut not moving that just makes it ferment more and the problems get worse. That is why it’s pretty common with SIBO to have constipation one day and diarrhea the next it’s the slow mobility causing the fermenting ....making a roller coaster back in fourth.
This seems to be a pattern with me, as this is what I did in the past. It worked.
After a while about
three months I could wean off of the supplements. However I think this time I will continue to take L glutamine and try my best not to add too many FOD map foods to my diet.
And I need learn to say no in social eating gatherings where there’s always social pressure to eat whatever one else is eating. That’s life.

Meals while treating SIBO can be pretty boring, but they don’t have to be.
As far as vegetable snacks one of the better things for SIBO is celery. Carrots have just too much sugar and leafy vegetables have a high fiber contact which is a no-no with Sibo. Celery is really just rough fiber which should be bad With a gut inflammation, yet it doesn’t give me problems.
I don’t need to be oxalate free, which is great I took the test years ago so I eat a lot of affordable mixed nuts from Aldi grocery store. Dry rice cakes although boring are a good midday filler. I add blueberries to make it tasty.
Green bananas are OK for SIBO yellow ripe bananas with black dots are a no no. I eat no other fruit at this time.
Mission tortillas now have a grain free tortilla available at some target grocery stores. There is also some other more expensive brands made out of tapioca that usually only health food store sell. I’ve made a lot of chicken and rice wraps with these as main meals. I had a finally sliced steak meat wrap last night which went down very well.
This is the first time I’ve had red meat for over a month as I could not digest it properly before due to the fat continent and my apparent temporary bile problem. The results of my digestion looking in the toilet we’re good news lol!
For some reason with Sibo, plain old white rice is better for you than brown or wild rice, this sounds odd, but it’s true.
I also have white rice puffed cereal with blueberries and no other additives with almond milk.
Also with SIBO , I read several places vitamin B12 is recommended. This is due to the temporary Malabsorption.
