False positive?

When I was in the hospital for my health journey, my lyme screening was <.90. 2 months later I got with a Lyme doctor and tested positive on the IFA and the western blot I had IGM: 23+, 41+ IGG: 41++. I also tested positive for a European strain. Most of my symptoms are neurological and neuropsychiatric. Is this false positive for something else?

when i asked my doc the same question he said well its like a pregnancy test , theres not a result that says "just a little bit pregnant " . band 41 is presence of flagella detected (only spirocheatal bacteria have flagella) . the euro strain especially is known to be neurological and virulent. welcome

I’m not aware of false positives. You have symptoms. Why do you think it’s a false positive?

Hi Dalton - welcome to the forum.
Band 23 is Lyme specific.
I would look into finding a LLMD and start treatment.

The European strains are known to cause fatigue and psych issues, just so you know.
