Here are some coping mechanisms that have been working for me… what work for you all? What about on rainy days? (Today is a rainy day so I’m struggling to come up with a coping mechanism today)
-being out in the sun
-long walks outside
-sitting by the river
-walking in the sand
-walking on rocks by the river
-biking outside
-skiing
I am 90% healed now I have been for a while. I’ve always done a lot outdoor stuff so no coincidence that’s how I got lyme.
In my most ill year, I could not do very much of any of these things. When that was going on, I just parked my car in the boat ramp parking , then roll down the windows and relax or walk out onto the dock. In the winter if I wasn’t too sore, I would snowshoe to some springfed streams that were pretty close to me. Something about
flowing water that’s just very relaxing to be nearby.
Now that that the snow is melting, I just went for a short walk down by my local creek before dark.
As far as rainy days go, I would just listen to music on the couch for relaxation. and nothing beats a great nap on the couch!
