Not a lyme thing. But that could be how both started years ago.
I finally got a good A1c average again, last three months of 5.5 on the American scale.
Pre-diabetes starts at 6 or 6.1.
Both were pretty stable for quite a few years, then went wacko Last summer . The highest ever A1c I had was 6.1 last I think.
That’s when I decided to try the keto diet. It quickly dropped to 5.5 then also, but once my body started to forget what to do with what little sugar I did have , my A1c Started going up again.
Currently, I do have prediabetes fasting glucose levels that is called the Dawn effect which is actually pretty common the more that I read about
this happening to people on the keto diet:
In the morning, your body starts dumping sugar reserves (my simple terminology) to get your brain going since you don’t have much sugar in your blood to begin with. This apparently does NOT have an effect on A1c however it will make fasting glucose elevated.
I wasn’t so sure if I believed (above) what I’ve been reading, but I pretty much just proved it with my lab testing.
I don’t know how people actually pull off very low carb keto. I am just barely keto probably anywhere from 40 grams to probably too much sometimes ,…maybe up to 65g a day at the most. A lot of that comes from snacking on salt free mixed nuts.

As far as my thyroid goes:
The brand that I am taking, NP acela “pig thyroid” has had many Quality problems the last few years. There is even a class action lawsuit against them. I am not “in on that” basically because I really don’t want to see pig Thyroid medication go away. That said why can’t a pharmaceutical company take quality seriously, and train their Quality inspection employees properly- that’s what they are supposed to do. Armor brand is double the cost, which is outrageous, but does not seem to have the same amount of quality problems. NP was really good when it came out eight years ago.
After starting a new three month bottle, I finally got my free T4 into the middle range and my TSH is 1.25, so no longer looks hyper. My free T3 is in range but on the low end of it. I also did not take my late afternoon thyroid dose Yesterday because I know that would make my morning thyroid test (Today )look hyper.
Most people only take thyroid medicine once a day in the morning and if that is what you do - dont ever take it before your test.
I still don’t feel the best,… hopefully symptoms will catch up with My improved lab tests.
I will also start LDN soon since I proved that I can get my glucose and thyroid normal without it,
LDN just makes me nervous thinking about
it.
🤔😊
