Month of pain

I need help or ideas.  I got a really bad headache one month ago which wouldn't go away with over the counter pain relievers and it continued into the next day.  I went to the doctor and she gave me an imitrex shot which helped but the headache was still there just not as bad.  At that appointment she said she thinks it is a migraine but not sure.  After 5 days I still had it and she sent me to the ER for a CT scan.  It came back normal they gave me imitrex tablets those didn't help.  Since, I have been to an ENT and gotten a CT of my sinuses which I am waiting for the results.  I also went to the ER the other night because I was getting tingling above my left eye and at the base of the right side of my head.  Also I had a creepy crawly feeling across my entire forehead and base of my skull.  I felt a little tingly a few days before that but it was not as bad.  On top of that i got really dizzy.  The hospital just gave me antivert and sent me home.  I just don't know what to think any more it gets better but is still there then one day it might get really bad again and slowly gets better.  I haven't gone a single day with out 3-4 headaches each day for a month straight.  Some days they just last a few minute others a few hours.

I went to the neuro due a headache that lasted a month long. Nothing helped me either....at first. They did a CT scan that came back normal. My ENT said everything looked normal. I got my MRI adn MRA done and that's when they noticed all my little issues. They said I had arnold chiari malformation (spelling may be off) which is why my head was hurting and my fingers where going numb for no reason at all, I was getting this painful numb-burn sensation down the back of my neck and upper back. My mom was diagnosed with MS and I feared I would be too. If you google arnold chiari malformation it explains it all......not saying that's what it is at all. It pretty much means that part of my brain isn't covered by my skull and there is alot of pressure down there and it causes severe headaches, numb sensations and burning. I would ask for a MRI or MRA. I had to go get a DHE injection and steroids to get rid of the pain which ended up coming back and then I had to do it again i've still had headaches just not as bad. A combination between my nasal spray and imtirex usually work if I get it in time. The numbness comes and goes. I'm not ready for surgery yet though so I'll wait it out until they make me. I hope some of this may have helped you none the less just to know your not the only one sometimes makes you feel better.

See if you can google them or look them up on the web and see what info you can find out about each one. Then choose which one you think knows more about your needs. My ENT didn't recommend anyone and I had to tell my doctor enough is enough fix me before he finally sent me to a neuro. Good luck.

Ask your doctor about taking some predisone. It's a steroid that they usually give me for a week and within the 1st day I usually always start to feel better. I hope it all starts to go away. Ever since I started to see the nuerologist I've been better. I take topamax 2x a day and imitrex as needed. I have flonase  for my sinuses but use afrin more. The nuerologist also prescribed me BUTALBITAL generic for ESGIC. It seems to help out and keep me off the imitrex a little more.

Sounds alot like mine, on monday I went back to my primary care begging for help.  She took me off Birthcontrol and told me to see if it goes away by today.  Well it didn't and we are waiting for her call back.  But in the mean time I started researching what she thinks it could be and that is Pseudotumor cerebri.  I talked to my cousin who is in medical school who agrees it is something to look into.  You should look it up, it is just pressure in the fluid.  They have to do a spinal tap to find out but if it is then they can relieve it immediatly. 

I just need to vent to some people that actually understand. When I called my doctor to tell her the headaches didn't go away she decided she does not want to do the spinal tap until I see a neurologist. I saw the neurologist today and he thinks it might be migraine even though they never go away. He put me on topamax and ordered a MRI to check a tumor I have on my pituitary gland (I have known about this for 2 years and treating it). Next he wants to do a MRA. I feel things are getting taken care of, but unless the topamax help which it has not yet, I still have to suffer for another two weeks.

What about dreams?  Every night I have very vivid dreams.  The kind that seem to go on and on.  Also if I wake up and fall back to sleep it continues where it left off.
