Hi everyone,
I have been suffering debilitating migraines for several years now and I have been treated with Imitrex to relieve them, which usually helps. Recently I went to an OB/GYN who told me that my migraines were hormonal and put me on Lybrel to take away my periods and stop the migraines. However, since then I have had three migraines in a month and a half so they are obviously not hormonal. I have started keeping a migraine journal to hopefully give me some clues.
Now to the question. The last migraine I had was on the left side of my head. It woke me up in the middle of the night and I was up vomiting and rolling with pain until the Imitrex kicked in (about 2 hours later). The thing is, this time I developed a new symptom. I have not had a migraine in 9 days, but since this one, the left side of my face hurts when I move my jaw a certain way. It starts in my jaw and goes up to my temple, like a nerve pain. Does this happen to anyone else? Is this facial pain in some way connected to my migraine and should I be concerned?? I am sure I do not have any jaw, tooth, or ear problems that would cause this pain. Please help. Thanks!
