how do YOU know when you're getting a migraine

I'm just curious how yall know youre getting migraines, of IF you know....

 

I know when one was coming for me b/c i get a slight pain across my forehead, then i get nauseous, then it starts.

 

my NORMAL HAs are jsut in my Left eye/left side of my head (i have strabismus).....so everything else just isnt right.

 

I dont normally get an aura, but i noticed a few times i saw green/blue lines horizontal.

 

Im just wondering!!! =]

 

My fiance gets auras before his comes about, then when he vomits, his migraine leaves!

I don't have really any warning I know it will be one if after taking advil or something it won't go away and then I start feeling barfy. It some times comes on so fast I don't have a chance to take any of my meds to get rid of it and by the time I know it is there it is to late for the maxalt.

Visual aura.  I have never had a migraine that was not preceded by this.  I believe the presence or abscence of an aura is mainly what seperates a diagnosis of common and classic migraine but I may be mistaken.

I get an Aura for about 10 minutes, sometimes as long as an hour. I HATE them!!!  But if I start with meds immediately, I can usually circumvent much pain.

My 13 year old has now started migraines and gets them exactly the same way.  Poor guy.

Always an aura, it seems like someone has cut a semi-cirlce line out of my vision and filled it with zig zagging, flashing lights.  The whole area slowly moves to the left until gone.  Incredibly distracting and as i'm a courier i have to stop driving and sit it out in car until i can get home!

oddly, I always get in a bad mood right before I get a migraine. But I don't always realize it's because of that.
