Several nights ago while watching television I had some sudden sharp pain on the back of my head, only on the left side near the bottom of my skull. I thought maybe I was just tired and so I went to bed. Now, it's been everday I've had some sharp pains just to that side, the same location. My head has felt a little heavy on my shoulders and now when I touch the part of my head where the pain occurs it is rather tender. I am not sure if I should be very concerned or not. I'm an 18 year old female. I am at the moment taking amitriptyline, not sure if I spelt it right, for headaches. I have been taking 25mg a night for the past two or three years. The only other thing is that when the pain occurs, it has been occuring more often lately, whenever I try to turn my head to the right the pain gets worse. Should I be horribly concerned? As in a tumour? Or could it be sinus pain? My father has been painting lately, so could it be from the fumes? I've found I've become somewhat congested and have taken a decongestant which I think has helped, however tonight, when I took it, it became more of a headache and occured everywhere but was not as painful. Just hoping someone can shed some light into this and reassure me that it is nothing horribly serious. It would mean so much.
