Hey everyone.. i usually post over in the lyme forums, as I have been diagnosed with lyme.. but this past week has been more about migraines/headaches for me.. it started last saturday (11.9).. i had a wicked migraine with nausea, i slept and slept until it got better..but every day since then ive had a slightly less painful migraine in the afternoons.. accompanied by nausea.. well yesterday i had my first aura followed by the most severe migraine i have had in almost a year... for about 20 minutes.. i had these weird zigzag flashy lines at the corner of my eyes... which was frustrating and i had no idea what it was.. so i decided to eat lunch.. well 10 minutes after lunch, my stomach decided to return to sender... and then my migraine started.. the pain was so severe on the left side of my head..from the back right to the top of my nose.. for a while...most of the pain was in the top and the left side of my nose... i couldn't get away from the pain, i took a hot bath.. i took a cold shower.. i laid down.. i put ice on my head.. i tried and tried to fall asleep... finally it lightened up and the pain wasnt so bad.. but i still had a headache.. then t his morning i woke up and was feelin alright.. but now its after lunch time..and my head is goin again, and im gettin nauseous.. can i really have a migraine for a week straight? its really interfering with things...

im just rambling..but i have thi weird fuzzy sensation come over my head, and hten one side starts to throb.. i feel like im goin crazy

I am so sorry this is happening to you
I would think it is really time to get ahold of your doc about this migraine

Just my opinion

I have had migraines last a few days but I still think your doc should be aware of this especially as this is with the first aura and it is happening daily in the afternnons

I take Gravol
( dimenihydrate) sp
And that helps settle my tummy which also helps with headache
I am on so many other pain meds .........too amny to count so ........

blueskyfvr--Please call your doctor and if he can't see you maybe he'll send you to the emergency room.  Migraines can be extremely painful and last for days in some cases; but it maybe another type of headache.  If this is new to you. get it checked out by a phsycian to make sure what type it is and the proper treatment for the headache.  There is no need to suffer that terrible pain.  I have had herendous headaches and been admitted to the hospital, the earlier you catch them the better off you will be.  All the best and hope you are well soon.  J

Not to at all diminish your pain but I just wanted to respond that migraines can indeed last for that long. Many of us here have had migraines that have continued without any let-up for years (going on 6 here :) ). But certainly see a qualified professional. Prolonged pain needs to be taken care of as quickly as possible or things can get very complicated very fast.
