Very good question. I want to know too. I just got a prescript
ion but I don't trust the doctors on what
is safe. I was prescribed 12/month. How about
you?

Actually I have been using them for about
three years now. Very effective in getting rid of the migraine but one wonders about
long term side effects. Currently using 10 mg two to three times per week depending on incidence of the migraine.

Hi,
I am prescribed triptans for my chronic daily migraines.
My Headache Specialist is adamant that I stick to these rules.
a) You don't use them when you've got aura (this relates to my hemiplegic migraines)
b) You only use them 2 days per week (that means either the Almogran or the Imigran, i.e. 5 days without either)
and
c) You don't use Imigran and Almogran on the same day.
Like all medications have side-effects triptans are no exception. I am in no means trying to put you off as they can provide some much needed relief but it is good just to be aware.
