dire need of help

I have atypical chronic migraines. Which means, mine are severe, chronic ( at least 4 times a week). And that's only the ones that aren't started by certain triggers.

Anyway, i've seen the top neuro doc in the state, had a CAT & MRI, been on every preventative type of med, i'm rambling....

Let me be direct: nothing helps me. My body is so drug resistant it's unbelievable. I don't even go to the ERs anymore 'cause demerol has no effect. I've even tried methadone, which had no effect at all. The tryptophans don't help -except for maxalt which medicaid will only give me 9 every 30 days.

I've read thru my PDR, i'm out of things to take/try. So my question is, is there anyone with these conditions who found something, anything that helped.

The last recourse i know of, is having one of the nerves in the left side of the head severed. (about 90% hit me over my left eye).

I can't take it.

I am SO sorry about all the meds you have taken. I am in the same boat. Migraines every other day and on the migraine "free" day I get a dull one. Imitrex helps for 80% of my bad ones, but my PPOM insurance also only gives 9 every 20-30 days. DUH!!! what are we supposed to do? I hate to take that much, but I cannot function w/o them! That sucks about medicaid. I hate illigal drugs, but I would try ANYTHING. I just get so nauseous, though, with my migraines that pot sounds like it would make it worse. Plus I have 2 kids to take care of..maybe not smart. :) What about chiropractor, acupuncture, biofeedback, hypnosis, or pursing the whole hormone theory..maybe the pill?

I keep thinking maybe if they ripped my ovaries out, I wouldn't get so many...but my Dr. won't go for that. Says its too drastic. WHAT? Maybe HE should live a week in our shoes!!!!
