I am a 36 yr old female that first started having hemiplegic migraines when I started my period at 11. At 29 I had a severe hemiplegic migraines with sustained aura that ended me up in the hospital for two weeks with no left side movement. I had a stroke. After intense rehab I came back, slowly, only to have another 1 1/2 years later, Aphasia. While I was recovering from that , I had two other strokes that toke my balance and personality. It has taken me years to recover and I am not all the way recovered and may bot ever 100% recover but am doing well. I have been on a wide variety of meds, for my migraines and strokes, from Bo-tox injections , chemically induced menopause , blood thinners to you name it I was on it. I had strokes, on them. Today, after trying all different meds, over 30 of them, I am on Topomax, Verapamil, Zyban, Plavix, Xanax(prn), Oxicodone(prn) and am doing as well as can be expected. If every time I had a symptom of a migraine which felt like a stroke, I would live at the hospital. I am curious to see if anyone else out there has experienced what I have at an early age?
