Valium for headaches....

Has anyone tried the London Protocol for their migraines.?

Basically what it is is 2 (5mg) tables of valium, 3 aspirin, and 1 reglan (compazine or zofran has also been used in this "cocktail".

I used this about 6 mos. ago for my migraines and have just taken another protocol as since last tues. evening my migraine started in the back of my head (a feeling that someone was punching it with their knuckles) and is now pulsating like an ice pick in my right temple and behind my right eye.

Anyone have this constant "electric shock" pain near their temple area? If so did it start one day (just a couple "tinges" here and there) and eventually move into an every day...all day pain??

Valium....is it simply a measure to try to knock the patient out and hopefully sleep the pain away??

I hadn't heard it called that but I have heard of a similar "cocktail" To me it seems like the valium would calm the person as well as release some of the tension that can contribute to head pain, the asprin increase blood flow and the others!?!? idk nausea and maybe sleep (Reglan sure does make me sleep-but the other two dont!? not sure)

Have you read about Occipital Neuralgia-it really sounded like it when you were talking about the back of the head pain as well as it moving up and around the temple and eye!?! hmmm...Mine starts on the back right side, then moves up toward my forehead and I have the ice pick/stabbing pain as well.

I'm sorry, I know I am "talking in circles" ha ha...Im having RFL on wednesday and am feeling pretty bad.

Valium does not ever make me sleepy, nor does compazine or phenegran. I am becoming increasingly agitated with my TMD, tension headaches and muscle spasams in m jaw. I'm in treatment and getting new appliances made but I need something to take the pain away until August 3rd when they are delivered to me.

I have missed too much work.

Hmmmm...I looked up occipital neuralgia, and yes that sounds pretty comparable to my "case". I put in yet another call to my neurologist this morning as these "lighting bolts" I have in my right temple are about to put my over the edge!!

This afternoon I am visiting a chiropractor that specializes in migraines and vertigo.....cross your fingers.....I have days where I don't know what is worse...the migraines....the dizziness and nausea....or my kids complaining that there's "nothing to do"..........ahhhhhhh.....school can't start soon enough!!

I'll drop you a line when I return from my appt. this afternoon. Hopefully I'll find some light at the end of this very very dark tunnel!!
