Propranolol (Inderal)

Hi all,

I went to the neurologist for my migraines and he put me on Propranolol ER 60mg,

has anyone been on this, and if so what is your experience on it??

I took it awhile back using small dosages that doctor prescibed and it did work but had to increase doseages to bring level to point that it would work. ( i think it was around 30 mg daily 10 mg 3 times a day ) i then stopped taking it. As i got older i had less headaches. I then aksed about imitrex which helped alot. You take when needed. I did not like taking alot of medications throught day.

I've tried beta blockers (like propranolol) and calcium channel blockers (like verapamil) and not really had any success with either. While I can't say they had any negative side effects (except possibly lowering bp some), they did nothing for my headaches. Some people swear by them though..It's really something that can vary a lot from person to person. Unfortunately, it seems most migraine meds are that way.
