Flashes during a migraine, other stuff.

hi everyone,
I woke this morning with a migraine headache, throbbing on the left side of my head..a few hours later i decided to take a couple Excedrin and lay down. While I was laying down I opened my eyes and a bright purple flash appeared. I was scared, can an aura happen during a migraine? Is this to be concern? aside from the migraine i feel a bit nauseated, and if I sit for a while the pain seems to dim a little, and if i get up and walk the pain seems to start throbbing again but near the top but in the back of my scalp throbbing across my head like horizontally i guess. Is that normal? I just started getting migraines within the last few months, so I don't know much.
