What prescription do you have for migraine?

Most people who suffer from migraine have tried this old fashion home remedy.

With the IBD it is difficult to take normal pain meds, and while melt away Maxalt works for me. I wonder if an injectable might be something to think about for you.

Do you think your IBD contributes to your migraines, med, or combo there of?  Does your azo keep you in remission?  Would a different uc med be an option?

I am currently talking Epidrin, I have had migraines for 7 years now and this is the only thing that has worked for me so far.

I am seriously considering neck stretching exercise. I will look into artificial sugars as well.

I was trying to connect IBD with migraine a lot but the dots failed to connect. My IBD meds pretty much keep me in remission but migraine frequency is so often that frequent use of Naproxen doesn't give me any chance to figure out if I am in remission or on flare. No other NSAID would work. Mexalt oral 10mg works for no more than 10 minutes on me. I have also used Zomig nasal 5mg and doesn't work at all. I am suspicious that either triptan derivatives are not for me or etiology of my migraine is different than triptans work on. I thought of going on Remicade for a while but I want to keep my options open. I am just 33 years old. I would prefer to have functioning colon at least till age of 50. I am almost sure that my current meds work, have been on remission for almost a year.

The meds you mentioned haven't been talked to me by my neurologist. She prescribed me Mexalt and Metaprolol. I am currently taking 100mg of Metaprolol but it isn't working great. I may have to go up to 150 or even 200mg daily. I will discuss the meds you mentioned though.

Dr. Armani brings out a very important point. I suffered with excruciating and debilitating migraines for most of my life, until I made the association with artificial sweeteners. Aspartame (aka "Nutrasweet") was the cause of ALL of my migraines, and as soon as I stopped consuming it, my migraines disappeared completely! Read the labels on everything you put into your mouth. Some products that contain sugar also contain aspartame (like chewing gum!) If you see this warning on a package label: "Phenylketonurics - contains phenylalanine," the product likely contains aspartame. Also beware of newer artificial sweeteners like Splenda. The bottom line is this: aspartame has been associated with hundreds of health issues including blindness and even death. It's a drug, which through political maneuvering, has been mislabeled as a food additive, and as evidenced by tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of consumer complaints to the FDA, is toxic. I would no more trust any other artificial sweetener to be any less health damaging.
