have i got brain damage?

a few months ago this boy in school starting hitting me in the head really really hard and he did it a few times and i havent felt thesame since. im shaking all the time and i cant focus on things as well, my heartbeat seems to be more noticeable and i feel really depressed and ashamed and embaresd everytime i go somewhere public, i feel nervous around people. i think he might have given me brain damage but i dont know?

Hi Daniel,

I'm sorry the boy was hitting you in school. It sounds like a very traumatic experience. It was clearly inappropriate and unacceptable. Is there someone you can talk to? Your teacher, principal, school councilor or parents (whoever you are most comfortable with) would be a good person to start with.

As far as brain damage is concerned, it's rather unlikely. If you're concerned about this you can always make an appointment with your doctor and get his/her opinion. In the meantime please go talk to someone in authority at school. You shouldn't have to live through this anxiety and depression. You don't deserve it.

I'm going to agree with EF; my concern is that you have suffered a traumatic incident and it has left you very frightened and nervous; this is perfectly natural to feel this way, I would be afraid too. You have been attacked and are now fearful. You must go to your parents and to the Principal; this sort of activity is against the law.
You may be afraid that doing this will make the situation worse, but living in fear, is worse; this person must not be allowed to do this again.
I don't think you have brain damage, but I think you're very afraid. Talk to your parents and the principal and let us know what happens.

ill try and talk to someone but im so scared of him and what hell do if i tell he threatens me all the time.

Hi Daniel,

I know it's a rough situation to be in. Schools have to take these types of things VERY VERY seriously. I think you will be surprised what a strong and supportive response you will get from authority figures on campus.

I think the best thing that you can do is communicate to whoever you talk to, that you are scarred and you do not want to be threatened any more. This will get sorted out. Be persistant. If you have to go to two adults instead of just one to get the result you want... do it, its worth it.

Daniel, what grade are you in?
This person threatens you because he knows he's wrong; he threatens you because he knows you're afraid and he uses this stop you from talking to the principal.
If you're afraid, have your parents set up a meeting with the principal and the school counselor; you can also report this to the police, what he did is illegal; there are laws against bullying in every State.
EvilFlourescents is very correct in what he said.
