anybody tell me what Echo-Doppler of the supra-aortic vessels is for, what is shows and how is done

Had an MRI scan and saw neurologist in December 2010 - doc didn't want - thought I was just depressed cos had a feeling of being off balance, disequilibrium, head pains every day - strange 'knocking' sounds in ear and a feeling of not being 'there' - all clear - was ok for 9 months and now symptoms have returned - head pains, strange ear sounds - sometimes uncomfortable all on left of head and disequilib - saw a different doc this time and he wants me to see a neurologist again and have an echo-doppler of the supra-aortic vessels - I am now really worried but maybe he is just being careful.

Don't know what an echo-doppler of the supra-aortic vessels is for, what is shows and how is done - I was in too much of a state when left surgery - feel really worried and panicky

Thank you for that - I am still very nervous though as to what it might show it the way of cancerous growths or something - my panic level is a stellar levels at the moment!

Hi........thanks for posting again. Did you have the echo-dopplar done? I think that you are seeing two docs right? A regular doc and a neuro? Who suggested it might be TIAs? Are they going to do an MRA? My dad had TIAs and took blood thinners and meds for his high blood pressure to help manage them. I do not think however that pain is a symptom of TIAs. Are migraines still on the table as a possibility? Rereading my post here I must apologize that I have more questions than answers! I know how worrisome all these tests can be especially since there are no easy answers here. Are you still having symptoms?
