I have shared the same problems for three years now, with two "flare-ups" where the pressure is so immense that it takes control. The MRI's and CT scans have all turned-up empty, and I have seen many doctors that simply shrugged it off. My primary physician finally found Trigeminal neuralgia after trial and no success of so many medicines. (Most of which treat depression, which I continued to insist that I was not depressed). The symptoms for the "A typical" Trigeminal Neuralgia fit almost identically, so for the first time in three years, I am somewhat hopeful for some relief. Much like the many posts in the forum, the symptoms would minimize during sleep and get progressively worse as the day progressed. Unfortunately, it is starting to spread into other nerves now and so the "burning and pressure" sensation has gone down into my right neck and shoulder. I have literally just started this new medication that was recommended for treatment of this problem, so I will post again as soon as we have determined that it helped.
I am not sure why, but it is comforting to know that there are others suffering with me. I literally thought I was starting to lose my mind, and I am so tired of "trying" so many things to relieve the pain only to find out that it not only worked, but had unfriendly side-effects. I was really starting to question whether I could live this way.
