Hi everyone,
Please tell me if you think what I have is migraines. A neurologist says it is but I still don't understand how all of my symptoms can be caused by migraines. In November I started having sharp and dull chest pains and intense pins and needles down my left arm. I went to the hospital where they tested me for lyme disease which was negative. A few days later the left side of my face, left arm, and left leg had intense pins and needles and then went numb. I also felt weak on my left side and had black spots in my vision. There was no headache. I went to the hospital where they did a CT scan, MRI of my head and cervical spine, neurological exams, extensive blood work, and EKG's all of which came back normal. The weakness that occured on my left side lasted for a day or two and the tingling on the left lasted that long as well.
This is the only full blown episode that I have had. Since then I had one 2 or 3 week stretch with no symptoms but over the past few monthes I've been getting chills down my left side almost daily. Sometimes the chills are just in one leg or arm. I also get tingling on the left side of my face very frequently. I have also had a few dizzy spells that don't last a long time. I get muscle twitches mostly in my left leg but also in my face. I am also really tired randomly. Just a few days ago I started getting sharp pains on the right side of my head but nothing unbearable. I also have gotten an aching sensation on the back left of my neck recently. I have noticed that when I have tingling it sometimes will switch from my left side to the right side very shortly (couple minutes if that) then switch back. Also after a night of drinking I woke up with both of my arms having intense pins and needles all the way into my hands. Sometimes I feel like my right arm is heavier then my left too. Lastly, sometimes I feel an odd pressure behind my eyes. It's uncomfortable but lasts for a very short time and isn't painful.
I am trying to be confident that this is nothing super serious because of the extensive work up that I have had. I previously convinced myself I had MS but it's safe to say I do not (no lessions). Please let me know what you think! I would love to hear anyones opinion. I am very scared and if this is being caused by migraines I'd like to hear what you all think my next step should be to manage my symptoms. Thanks for your time!
